feedback: a childhood hunger installation
now open at creative pinellas!
Feedback is an art installation featuring 3,404 "plates" made from food packaging waste.
Each plate represents 10 children who are food insecure in pinellas county, fl.
A wood tabletop mounted to the gallery wall allows viewers to “put food on the table”. A $10 donation allows visitors to add a food sticker to the tabletop and provides 50 meals to hungry families through Feeding Tampa Bay.
Feedback is installed at the Arts Annual at Creative Pinellas from November 11th through December 19th. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. The gallery at Creative Pinellas is located at 12211 Walsingham Road in Largo.
If you’re unable to attend Feedback in person, Steph is happy to add a sticker for you. Click below to donate. And thank you for being an awesome human!
flow: a seashell art installation
flow features 2,511 hand painted lucine seashells. each shell represents one gallon of raw sewage spilled into florida waterways every hour.
The FLow art installation came off gallery walls in April 2021, but you can still own a piece for your own walls.
Steph has created an abstract photography series using the painted shells of FLow. Proceeds from photography prints are donated to the Ocean Conservancy Protecting Florida project.
30 minutes is a 432 square foot art installation consisting of 2700 leaf shapes made from collected chipboard waste.
These 2700 leaves represent the 2700 acres of rainforest lost to deforestation every 30 minutes.
The exhibit has come to an end and I’m so excited to share that 30 Minutes
saved 43 acres
it's not too late to take action! let's save acres of rainforest together.
You can become a physical part of this ongoing art piece as well as a permanent part of the effort to save rainforests!
The 30 Minutes installation at Creative Pinellas has ended, but the leaves will continue to be displayed in future installations. Plans include an increase to 60 minutes (double the leaves!), new gallery spaces, and leaves traveling up walls and on ceilings.
Every ‘add your name’ leaf stays with the project permanently, because your purchase permanently saves one acre of rainforest.
