I love a good plan.
I find myself living away from my people and my art spaces and so much of everything I love to see and do, but I find myself living in a space that includes, well, space. It’s no surprise, then, that I want to fill the space around me with color and art and life. Because that’s what I’m missing since we were forced to move out of Pinellas County. I’m craving beauty and joy and color and newness and challenge.
I need flowers.
I love the process of things. I love research. I love solving puzzles. So here I am leaning in to what I do best – installation art. However, in order to “install” a flower garden, I have to learn how to be a gardener.
These are images from my garden planning journey thus far:
I am completely enamored with my garden plans. The trials, the dreams, the failures, the possibilities. I am thrilled to be on this journey!
I want to thank Erin Benzakein of Floret for sharing her story, her knowledge, and her love for flowers with the world. She has truly inspired me to grow more flowers, and she has empowered me with the knowledge necessary to do so.
